| Grandpa Walter Schieble hunted Wisconsin lakes like Pewaukee , Puckaway , Poygan, and even Lake Michigan during the mid-20th century. Occasionally he took along his first generation 16 mm home movie camera. Fortunately for us, Grandpa carefully stored his films in airtight liver cans (he was a butcher!).
His hunting rig in 1936 included the best hand-made wooden blocks he could afford, because he appreciated the magic of well-executed duck duck decoys. If he were with us today he would surely enjoy hunting over Autumn Wings duck decoys!
This streaming video and these images on our site were edited from his films. Thank you for sharing your duck hunting traditions with us, Grandpa!
